Famous Vegans

Veganism is a new trend that’s taken the world by storm, and whether you’re cooking plant-based foods or eating from the Vegan Supplement Market, there are loads of reasons why you might want to go vegan.

That’s why it’s a trend that’s starting to grow in Finland.

But in this article, I want to talk about some famous faces you might not have known were vegan.

Miley Cyrus

She first burst onto our screens as Hannah Montana! But when she stopped being a child star, she went onto become a regular star, touring the world, and realising platinum singles.

Just after she was one of Disney Channel’s biggest stars, she went onto become the twerking queen. But you might not have known that Miley is a vegan.

Not only does she not eat animals, but she’s unapologetic about it, describing herself as “vegan AF” and “so not sorry if you don’t like it”

Mike Tyson

This next one might surprise you.

When you think of a vegan man, you might think of someone scrawny and feeble. Someone who couldn’t hurt a fly. But that’s not true at all!

In 2009, boxing legend Mike Tyson decided to go vegan. He says that in that year he was at his lowest ever, and veganism, along with religion and sobriety helped him to turn his life around.

For Mike, veganism was not the end goal, but rather one of the many stepping stones on the path to living a more fulfilled lifestyle.

Joaquin Phoenix

Joaquin Phoenix is best known for his role in the 2019 movie, The Joker, where he plays a mentally ill loner, excluded by society.

But off-screen, the real Joaquin is filled with just as much love and passion as his movie counterpart.

Unlike most of the others on this list, Phoenix comes from a family of vegans, and he’s been at it ever since he was 3 years old.

On top of being a vegan, he’s also a vocal animal rights activist and has taken the opportunity to preach the virtues of veganism in many of his speeches.

Morrissey

Morrissey is best known for being the lead singer of the band “The Smiths”. Anyone who enjoys listening to their music will be aware that for most of his life, he’s been a vegetarian.

Some vegans like to have fun with their diet, but not Morrissey. This man lives on a diet of exclusively bread, potatoes, pasta, and nuts. In his entire life, he’s never eaten curry, garlic, or drank a coffee.

His general rule of thumb is that he won’t eat anything that “had a mother”, and claims that vegans are “superior beings”.

There’s being a fussy eater, and then there’s being Morrissey.
